Sand & Shell Casting Manufacturer in Bengaluru — CI, SG Iron, Aluminium, Steel & Brass

Sand & shell moulded castings in CI, SG Iron, Aluminium, Steel and Brass. Exhaust manifolds, valve bodies, cylinder heads, liners & volute casings — Bengaluru.

Introduction

We are a sand casting manufacturer in Bengaluru, working in CI, SG Iron, Aluminium, Steel and Brass. We use both sand casting and shell moulding, depending on what your part needs — tighter tolerance, a smoother surface, or a bigger production run.Over the years, we've cast exhaust manifolds, valve bodies, cylinder head cores, air-cooled liners, and volute casings for customers across India. If your part falls in this list, we've likely made something close to it already.

Sand Casting vs Shell Moulding — What's the Difference?

Both start with a mould, but they're built differently.

Sand casting

uses loose, compacted sand around a pattern. It's cost-effective and works well for larger or lower-volume parts.

Shell moulding

Die casting

uses a thin, resin-bonded sand shell formed around a heated pattern. It holds tighter tolerances and gives a smoother finish, which suits parts with fine detail.

We help you pick the right process based on your drawing, quantity, and finish requirement — not the other way around.

Metals We Cast

As a trusted cast iron foundry in Bengaluru, we also cast several other metals:

cast iron

Cast Iron (CI)

Good wear resistance and machinability. Common in housings and brackets.

SG Iron

Also called ductile iron. Stronger and more flexible than CI, so it’s a good fit for automotive and hydraulic parts.

Aluminium

Light in weight with decent strength. Popular for parts where weight matters, like liners and covers.

steel material

Steel

High strength for parts under heavy load or stress.

Brass

Brass

Corrosion-resistant and easy to machine. Often used for valve fittings and small precision parts.

Volute Casing CI, SG Iron Pumps

Why Sand & Shell Casting Is Still the Practical Choice

For many parts, these two processes give you the best balance of cost, flexibility and finish.

Benefit What It Means for You Why It Matters
Wide choice of metals CI, SG iron, aluminium, steel and brass can all be cast One foundry for different parts, so fewer vendors to manage
Low tooling cost Patterns are far cheaper than metal dies Easy to start, even for small or trial quantities
Size and weight flexibility From small valve parts to heavy housings and liners You are not limited by the machine size
Complex shapes and cores Internal passages like those in cylinder heads and manifolds Hollow, detailed parts without extra assembly
Finer finish with shell moulding Thin resin-bonded shells copy the pattern closely Smoother surface and less machining on detailed parts
Quick design changes Patterns can be modified without starting over Faster development from drawing to first casting
Good for low to medium volumes Economical when you don't need lakhs of pieces Better value than a die for smaller runs
How We Work

Our Casting Process

1

Pattern Receipt

We check your drawing or pattern before starting.

2

Mould Preparation

Sand or shell mould is prepared based on the part.

3

Melting & Pouring

Metal is melted and poured into the mould.

4

Fettling & Finishing

Excess material is removed and the surface is cleaned up.

5

Quality Inspection

Every batch is checked before it leaves the foundry.

6

Dispatch

Finished parts are packed and shipped.

ACCREDITATIONS

Quality & Certifications

We follow set inspection steps at every stage, from raw material checks to final dimensional inspection, so defects are caught early — not after delivery. As an ISO certified sand casting foundry in Bengaluru, we document our process so your procurement team has the paperwork it needs.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between sand casting and shell moulding?

Sand casting uses a loose sand mould. Shell moulding uses a thin resin-bonded sand shell, which gives tighter tolerances and a better surface finish.

SG (spheroidal graphite) iron is stronger and more ductile than standard cast iron. It's widely used in automotive and hydraulic components.

CI, SG Iron, Aluminium, Steel and Brass can all be sand cast. Each suits different strength and weight needs.

Resin-coated sand is shaped around a heated pattern to form a rigid shell. This shell is then used to cast the final part.

SG iron has graphite in a spherical form, which gives it more strength and flexibility. Standard CI has graphite in flake form, which makes it more brittle.

Cost depends on the metal grade, part complexity, and order quantity. Share your drawing with us for an accurate per-kg quote.

A volute casing houses the impeller inside a centrifugal pump. It directs fluid flow and helps build pressure.

Automotive, hydraulics, pumps & valves, and general engineering are the main industries that rely on sand and shell castings.
